About Me

My name is Mattias Buysens, a now 39-year-old man who finds more and more peace in embracing life as it comes. You can describe me as easy-going, authentic, open and curious.

I love a dynamic context, which has brought me to several places and jobs. It makes me question a lot, be critical and look into the world with an open mind. My search over the past few years therefore brought me several special challenges and beautiful insights, in which nature and nature connection played a major role. In short, it brought me closer to myself.

My own (work) experiences ensure that I strongly believe in creating places to reflect on yourself in a non-coercive way, where the power of sharing and connecting with others in a natural environment is central.
This already gave myself a better understanding of what mental wellbeing means. I am therefore convinced that deep down we all know what we want, but have 'learned' over the years to ignore our own signals. There is a great need to be vulnerable, while there seems to be a lack of rolmodels and social space.

From my experiences in working with young people, I therefore actively make space for this and offer perspectives so that we can deal with today's and tomorrow's challenges more resiliently.

During the activities, I draw on the experience I have gained over the past few years as a volunteer, trainer, facilitator, coordinator and lecturer in working with young people, facilitating learning processes and creating a safe learning environment within these various contexts.
The main focus of the activities is on connecting with yourself, others and all living things.

The skills required to work with this content were gained from my own experiences, such as:
