Where it started
Be-ing originated from the need to create space for young people, youth workers and youth organisations to actively work on the theme of mental well-being. Not just to young people, but also for youth workers and within the wider organisation. In doing so, I consciously look at Mental wellbeing in a holistic and systemic way. It is my belief that this is the only way to contribute to the short- and long-term mental well-being of young people.
When I started working professionally with young people in 2010, I was immediately struck by how great the need is within this target group to be able, and allowed, to be themselves. Since Covid, the search for connection has been even more prominent. The past few years taught me how important it is to take care of yourself, whereby self-care is a crucial link when it comes to one's own mental well-being. And let this be something that is not taught anywhere.
That is where I bring change with my offer!
Within my approach, space is made to take steps in this direction in order to actively contribute to your own (and your collective) mental well-being!

The filosophy
Be-ing stands for an active being.
A being that is not fixed, but is dynamic in itself.
We are continuously changing through the situations we find ourselves in, people you get to know, the environment we find ourselves in and social contexts. In short: the experiences we gain.
A great inspiration for me is Ubuntu, an African philosophy that uses the statement, 'I am, because we are'. It points to the fact of reciprocity in which we are part of a larger interactive system, in which the generations that came before us, and those that will come after us, are also an active part.
What we are doing today is along one side a continuation, and along the other a potential movement towards a future that we will not necessarily see for ourselves.
Be-ing is something that is alive, because we are constantly moving.
